Product Introduction: RORC is a DNA-binding transcription factor which belongs to the NR1 subfamily of nuclear hormone receptors. The specific functions of the RORC protein are not known; nevertheless, studies of a similar gene in mice have shown that the RORC gene may be vital for lymphoid organogenesis and may have an imperative regulatory role in thymopoiesis. Furthermore, studies in mice suggest that RORC may inhibit the expression of Fas ligand and IL2. RORC may be a possible nuclear receptor for hydroxycholesterols, the binding of which strongly promotes coactivators recruitment. RORC is Crucial for thymopoiesis and the development of several secondary lymphoid tissues, including lymph nodes. RORC is also involved in lineage specification of uncommitted CD4(+) T helper cells into Th17 cells. In addition, RORCs regulate the expression of several components of the circadian clock.
Product Description: RAR-Related Orphan Receptor C Human Recombinant produced in E.Coli is a full length protein consisting of 497 amino acids having a molecular weight of 55.8kDa and fused with 5.5kDa amino-terminal His-Flag tag. RORC is purified by proprietary chromatographic techniques.
